Winemaker Notes
Spakai was born in Sorso, in the north-west of Sardinia, where winemaking tradition meets wild landscapes and a coastline shaped by the sea. The family behind Spakai has been tending a small bush-trained vineyard for five generations, a patch of land overlooking the Gulf of Asinara.
Every gesture here is artisanal: the vines are farmed without pesticides or herbicides, cover crops of legumes are used to maintain soil fertility, and harvesting is carried out strictly by hand at optimal ripeness.
Spakai is not about chasing modernity at all costs — it is about authenticity, freedom, and a pure expression of a territory that deserves respect.
Story
We love Spakai for its rare ability to combine power and elegance: their Cannonau “AN-DA” speaks of Sardinia with a voice that is strong yet refined.
Made from the ancient Cannonau grape, with small additions of Cagnulari and Pascale, it delivers wines that are warm in body yet lively in freshness, intense but never heavy. Respect for the vineyard, manual work, and a philosophy of minimal intervention are all reflected in the aromas of Mediterranean scrub, ripe red fruits, and a firm yet balanced tannic structure.
Each bottle is a ritual, a connection to place, an experience that conveys the land, the climate, and the history. Spakai is not just wine — it is identity — and that is why it captivates us every time.
