Paltrinieri, Roses and Vineyards – InstaTasting

There is a similarity between different plants regarding their susceptibility to Phylloxera, like roses and vines for example.

There is a long history of roses being planted in vineyards, not for esthetic reasons, but because they are more susceptible to diseases than the vine. So if the rosebush showed signs of a disease, that was a big warning sign for the winemaker that he had but little time to try and safe his vines.
