Winemaker Notes
Produced in Romangia, Sardinia, in the Badde Pira area on calcareous soils rich in white marl, at old-vine sites of approximately 50 years, farmed organically (contact products only) with hand harvesting, semi-carbonic maceration on half the whole clusters, spontaneous native yeast fermentation, followed by aging in cement tanks and/or large neutral vessels, then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Story
"Li Sureddi" in the Sardinian dialect means "The Sisters". Alessia and Noemi carry on the family project to recover and to preserve the ancient local clones: Cannonau and the aromatic Vermentino of Romangia. The most important cru is Badde Pira, which is located on the hills overlooking the sea in the Gulf of Asinara with a predominantly calcareous soil, rich in fossils with a strong presence of marl.
The concept of natural wine goes hand in hand with the principle of freedom: freedom to express the vintages and the terroir without any market pressure. The sisters define themselves as artisans as they do not follow a precise pattern such as organic or biodynamic but they work the land according to their conscience. The grapes are treated only with contact products such as sulfur and copper, to enhance spontaneous fermentation during the vinification phase.
