Winemaker Notes

From vineyards near Pescara, Abruzzo, rooted in clay-limestone soils at around 300 meters above sea level. Farmed organically with all vineyard work carried out by hand. Made from 100% Montepulciano, harvested manually at full ripeness.

Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, with a maceration of about 10–12 days to extract color and structure. The wine is then aged in steel tanks for several months to preserve freshness and purity, and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur. The result is a vibrant, generous Montepulciano, with ripe fruit, lively acidity, and the rustic soul of Abruzzo.

Story

In the hills of Abruzzo, near Pescara, the Febo family has been tending their vineyards for generations, guided by a deep respect for the land and its rhythms. Today, the estate is led with the same spirit: organic farming, careful manual work, and a belief that good wine is born only from healthy soils and patient hands.

The vineyards, rooted in clay and limestone at around 300 meters above sea level, are devoted above all to Montepulciano, the grape that has long defined Abruzzo’s winemaking identity. Their Montepulciano is generous and vibrant, fermented with natural yeasts and aged simply to preserve purity and character. It is a wine of warmth and substance, full of ripe fruit yet grounded in freshness, made for the table and for sharing.

What we love about Famiglia Febo is their ability to capture Abruzzo’s rustic soul in a bottle—wines that are honest, expressive, and deeply connected to the land and family that produce them.
