Winemaker Notes

This is a sparkling rosè wine obtained from Lambrusco grapes from the Modena hills, with small quantities of native local vines. After the manual harvest, soft pressing follows. First fermentation in concrete tanks. Second fermentation in the bottle. Unfiltered and undisgorged with yeasts still present in the bottle. Bottled on March 22, 2024.
2686 bottles produced exclusively for the Roscioli Wine Club.
The ideal wine for a  gourmet pic nic!

The Story

Podere Sottoilnoce is Max Brondolo's small winery located on the outskirts of the medieval village of Castelvetro di Modena. The name comes from the imposing walnut tree that stands among the oldest vineyards on the estate (some reach 60 years of age); a freak of nature, as it is said that "nothing grows under the walnut tree". Max inaugurated his small business in recent 2017 from a purely artisanal idea, founded on the principles of organic agriculture and Steiner's biodynamic theories. The vineyard area extends over 6 hectares and the most classic varieties of the Emilian tradition are grown, some abandoned and rediscovered: Lambrusco (in its Grasparossa, Fioranese and Sorbara declinations), Trebbiano (in the Spanish and Modenese biotypes) and other native ones such as 'Tosca grape'. Podere Sottilnoce wines recall the most ancient and artisanal Emilian tradition. They are elegant, lively and greedy, with a regenerating freshness, a lively foam and an irresistible drink. Perfect companions for the everyday table, they are wines of the heart, designed for moments of pure joy, conviviality and lightheartedness.
