Winemaker Notes

From vineyards around the village of Barolo in the Langhe, rooted in calcareous-marly soils at about 300–350 meters above sea level.

Farmed organically with all vineyard work carried out by hand. 100% Dolcetto, harvested manually, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, and kept on the skins for about 10–12 days to preserve freshness and fruit. Aged in steel for several months and bottled without filtration, it is a pure, lively expression of Dolcetto—bright red fruit, gentle tannins, and a clean, vibrant finish.

Story

In the heart of Barolo, in the village of Barolo itself, Francesco Borgogno carries forward his family’s long tradition of winemaking with humility and dedication. His vineyards, rooted in the calcareous-marly soils of the Langhe, are cultivated with minimal intervention and deep respect for the land.

While Nebbiolo is the noble grape of these hills, Francesco has always believed in the everyday beauty of Dolcetto, the variety that has nourished generations of Langhe families. His Dolcetto is pure and sincere, fermented with native yeasts and aged in steel to preserve its freshness and lively fruit. It is a wine of immediacy and charm—bright, juicy, and utterly drinkable.

What we love about Francesco Borgogno is his devotion to the “humble” grapes of the Langhe, giving them the same care and respect as Barolo itself. This Dolcetto is not just a wine of tradition, but a wine of friendship and daily joy.
