Winemaker Notes

Produced in Serralunga d’Alba, Piemonte, from Nebbiolo grapes grown on limestone and clay soils at 420–500 meters above sea level. Vineyard work and harvesting are done by hand in small crates to preserve fruit integrity.

Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, with long maceration on the skins. The wine is then aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by additional refinement in cement and in bottle before release.

Story

460 Casina Bric is the vision of Gianluca Viberti, crafting wine from the highest vineyards in the Barolo commune—averaging around 460 meters above sea level. Established independently in 2010, after more than twenty years tending the family vineyards, Gianluca founded this project on solid ideals: respect for nature, sustainable viticulture, and a deep connection between man and terroir.

The vineyards stretch from 420 to 500 m a.s.l., in Serralunga d’Alba and nearby cru such as Bricco delle Viole, Serradenari, and Fossati. Soils vary from clayey marls, loams, to sandy, porous elements—each micro-parcel contributing distinct nuances. In the cellar, tradition meets mindful innovation: long macerations (up to 40 days for Nebbiolo), indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction techniques, large Slavonian oak barrels, cement vats, and ancient practices like steccatura to immerse the cap.

Every decision is informed by the vintage, climate, altitude, and Gianluca’s desire to let Nebbiolo speak its highest voice.
