Winemaker Notes

The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Maceration is carefully managed to extract depth and structure while preserving freshness and varietal character. The wine is aged in neutral oak vessels, allowing the tannic framework to integrate without masking the natural acidity and dark fruit profile typical of Refosco. The aim is to maintain energy and tension rather than soften the grape’s inherent firmness.

The Story

Villa Job is led by Alessandro and her family in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where they’ve committed to organic farming and long-term soil health. Their vineyards sit on ponca soils, and that texture always shows up in the structure of the wines. “Serious” reflects their mindset more than a style cue.
Even when working with low-intervention methods, they’re not chasing volatility or trend-driven aesthetics. They want balance, stability, and longevity. You feel that in the way the wine carries itself. There’s energy, but also depth. We respect producers like Alessandra because they chose sustainability before it became a selling point. The wine feels grounded in that conviction.
