Winemaker Notes
Since the three hectares of winery vineyards are all registered in the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, after each harvest the wine obtained from these vineyards is fully capable of becoming Brunello.
In order to diversify production and be present on both markets, the property has decided to allocate part of the wine to Rosso di Montalcino. The only difference between these two wines lies in the duration of aging, which for Rosso di Montalcino lasts at least one year, always in oak barrels. The wine is not subject to filtration.
Story
Poggiarellino Farm is located in a pleasant and peaceful corner of the Senese countryside, among the old and famous Val d'Orcia hills. The 30-acre estate is divided between vineyards, olive trees and cereal production, with just 3 acres dedicated to the production of their exceptional Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines.
Structurally the smooth tannins are carefully balanced by bright acidity, impressively long finish which will respond well to further ageing over the next decades .
