Super versatile. Pastas, mixed legumes soup with crunchy bites of bacon, your favourite gourmet hamburger, artisanal charcuterie with warm focaccia, aged cheeses...
Barbera d’Alba di Scarzello comes from Sarmassa and Paiagallo Cru, located at an altitude of between 250 and 400 meters above sea level. The soil is mainly clayey and calcareous and the vines are grown according to the principles of organic farming. The must ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks, macerating on the skins for a long time. The wine is then transferred for 12-18 months in large oak barrels. Once bottled, it faces another maturation, directly in glass, for another 12 months.
"We are the generations that preceded us, we are our ambitions and our visions, the daily commitment of our work, the continuous desire to improve and operate in a healthy and balanced territory, we are our wines." The words of Federico Scarzello, the third generation of winemakers on the family estate, well describe the vision that animates his daily work.
Five and a half hectares of vineyards and a small family winery located in the charming village of Barolo with the ambition of bringing the excellence and authenticity of that territory into the bottle. Today these principles feed the philosophy that has allowed the company to grow generation after generation: supporting quality rather than taste trends and always safeguarding the elegance and freshness of the wine.
The beauty of this wine is its versatility. It's a wine that is full, but not heavy on the palate and can go with a variety of dishes from vegetarian plates, to light meats, pasta and cheeses.
